How to Delete a Crypto App Account: 6 Steps for CoinDrop and Swappr, and What Stays Behind (2026)
How do you delete a crypto app account?
Settle anything tied to the account first, cancel any Google Play subscription, save your records, then send a deletion request through the developer’s official deletion page. For CoinDrop and Swappr, that page is GSPTeck’s account and data deletion request form. Deleting an app account removes your profile and most personal data held by the developer, but it cannot touch anything recorded on a blockchain or held in your own wallet. The six steps below, and the table of what stays behind, apply to both apps.
Educational content, not legal advice. Rules on data deletion differ by country.
The two CoinX apps and their deletion paths
- CoinDrop: an Android rewards app where you press a button, complete simple tasks and refer friends to earn tokens, with Free and Premium memberships. App page: CoinDrop on CoinX, site coindrop.website, listing CoinDrop on Google Play.
- Swappr: a free Android app for multi-coin swaps (pick the pair, check the amount and limits, paste your address, send), with swaps processed by FixedFloat. App page: Swappr on CoinX, site swappr.website, listing Swappr on Google Play.
| CoinDrop | Swappr | |
|---|---|---|
| What the account holds | Rewards app account and related site data | Mobile app account data |
| Where to request deletion | GSPTeck deletion form, product “CoinDrop” | GSPTeck deletion form, product “Swappr” |
| Settle first | Rewards you have not claimed; any paid plan billed through Google Play | Any swap order still in progress |
| Outside the developer’s reach | Tokens already in your wallet; on-chain history | Swap transactions on-chain; FixedFloat’s own order records |
What deletion removes, and what stays behind
GSPTeck’s deletion page says that after verification it makes reasonable efforts to delete “your account identifiers, profile information, and most associated personal data” for the selected product, that deletion is permanent, and that limited information may be kept for legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, contract enforcement, regulatory compliance or anonymised datasets. Bigger exchanges work the same way: Coinbase says it keeps some personal information for at least five years, and Binance.US warns that funds left in an account after deletion are forfeited.
| Item | After deletion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Profile, email, user ID | Deleted | Core of the request |
| Records needed for law, fraud or security | May be kept | Allowed exceptions, disclosed in the privacy policy |
| Blockchain transactions | Stay public | No app or company can erase a public ledger |
| Coins in your self-custody wallet | Untouched | Your keys, not the app account |
| Google Play subscription | Keeps billing until cancelled | Billing is managed by Google Play |
6 steps to delete your CoinDrop or Swappr account
- Settle what the account controls. In CoinDrop, finish any reward claim you intend to make while you can still sign in. In Swappr, let any swap in progress complete or refund first; the order page shows its status and the transaction links.
- Cancel paid plans in Google Play. If you pay for any plan through Google Play, cancel it there before deleting. Google’s help page is explicit: “When you uninstall the app, your subscription won’t cancel.” Open Google Play, go to Payments & subscriptions, choose the subscription and tap Cancel subscription.
- Save your records. Note dates, amounts and transaction IDs for rewards received and swaps made. Deleting the account does not remove any tax obligation; our guide to whether crypto airdrops and swaps are taxable lists what to keep.
- Confirm your wallet backup. Make sure you hold the recovery phrase for the wallet that received your coins. The app account and the wallet are separate, so the coins stay where they are either way.
- Send the request from the official page. On the GSPTeck form, enter the email linked to the account, add your username or user ID if you know it, pick CoinDrop or Swappr, tick the confirmation and submit. The form opens a pre-filled email to themaker@gspteck.com so the request can be verified.
- Uninstall, then watch for impersonators. Remove the app from your phone. Any message that asks for your seed phrase, a “verification deposit” or remote access to finish a deletion is a scam; see our breakdown of fake crypto support and recovery scams.
Uninstall, deactivate or delete: which do you need?
| Action | What happens | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Uninstall | App leaves the phone; the account and data remain; subscriptions keep billing | You may come back later |
| Cancel subscription | Paid features end at the period’s end; the account remains | You want the free tier only |
| Delete account | Account and most personal data erased; permanent | You are done with the app |
The rules that back your request
Two sets of rules make sure a deletion route exists. Google Play’s account deletion requirement says that if an app lets you create an account, the developer must offer an in-app path to delete it and a web link where you can request deletion without reinstalling the app, and must delete the associated data apart from what has to be kept for reasons such as security, fraud prevention or regulatory compliance. In the EU and UK, Article 17 of the GDPR gives you the right to have personal data erased “without undue delay” when one of its grounds applies, and Article 12 sets a response deadline of one month from the request, extendable by two further months for complex cases.
You can check an app’s stated deletion options before installing: the Data safety section of a Play listing says whether you can request data deletion. Our checklist on verifying an official crypto app on Google Play shows where to find it, which also helps you avoid copycat apps that collect data and offer no way to delete it.
Before you hit submit: a short check
- Is the email you enter the one tied to the account? A request for an unknown email cannot be matched.
- Have you saved anything you may need for taxes or disputes?
- Did you cancel billing in Google Play rather than only uninstalling?
- Did you send the request from gspteck.com, not from a link in a message?
FAQ
Does uninstalling a crypto app delete my account?
No. Uninstalling only removes the app from your phone; the account and its data stay with the developer, and Google Play subscriptions keep billing. To erase the account, send a deletion request through the developer’s official page.
Will deleting my CoinDrop account remove tokens from my wallet?
No. Tokens already sent to your self-custody wallet are controlled by your keys, not by the app account. Claim anything you intend to claim before deleting, because the account those rewards are tied to will be gone.
How long does account deletion take?
GSPTeck says requests are reviewed and processed within a reasonable timeframe after verification. Where the GDPR applies, the controller must respond within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests.
Can a company erase my crypto transaction history?
Not on a public blockchain. Deletion covers the data a company holds about you, such as your email and profile, while transactions recorded on-chain remain visible to anyone with the address or transaction ID.
